Turtle Brownies

This time of year always makes me want to bake yummy treats.  I can't think of too many things better than a chocolate brownie WITH caramel AND pecans!  These are really good.



Turtle Brownies

1 pkg Swiss or German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk, divided
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
1 (14 oz) pkg caramels, unwrapped
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F
In a large bowl, combine cake mix with butter and 1 cup condensed milk (batter will be thick)
Spread half of batter into a greased 9x13 baking dish
Bake for 12-15 minutes until set
In a small saucepan heat caramels in remaining milk on medium-low heat, stirring constantly until melted
Sprinkle chocolate chips over cooked brownie
Pour caramel over chips and sprinkle with pecans
Drop remaining brownie batter by spoon fulls on top
Bake for 15-20 minutes until center is set
Cool for at least 30 minutes
